Operation Homefront

Vivian Dietrich is a Loudoun Co resident, who suffered from compulsive volunteerism, from career woman to stay-at-home mom, she filled her time volunteering on a private school board, leading scouts, to family support leader for military spouses.  After a 12-year career in shopping mall industry, she met and married an Army Officer, Ranger, Paratrooper, joining the ranks of the less than 1% of American military families.

Military life formed her lifetime volunteering care for injured and their families starting with the 82nd Airborne division “Green-Ramp” explosion in NC. Resulting in 22 fatalities, where she witnessed firsthand the difficulties our military families face.

Holding on to faith she learned her spouse survived the Pentagon 911 attack and later deployed to Mosul, Iraqi leaving Vivian with 2 small children for 15 months.  After his deployment, Vivian learned about Operation Homefront.  Intrigued by the mission, Vivian and a small group friends started the DC Metro Chapter of Operation Homefront, serving military families.  Quickly she, secured an MOU to serve at Walter Reed and successfully lobbied to bring OHV to MD. Eventually, volunteering turned to employment.   As president of the chapter in 2007 she joined National organization in 2013.
